New Year's Read-olution!

Try a New Year's Read-olution
Make a Reading Resolution in 2011

Make Reading a part of your family's everyday life. It's beneficial for kids to see parents demonstrate a love for reading.
Here are a few ideas to get you started...
  • Decide to read a certain number of books in 2011. If you read 6 books last year, make it 9 or 10. If you didn't read any books, try for 1 or 2, and if you are an avid reader, you might want to try for an even 100!

  • Bring a book along & get caught reading in public. When running errands, bring a book for both you and your children to read during those moments where you are waiting during the day.

  • Commit to start reading to your kids - or to read to them more often! According to literacy organizations, less than half of young children in this country are read to regularly.

  • Everyone loves activity books. Try reading the instructions together and create something fun.
